Moving and Assisting Awareness Level 1
The Moving and Assisting Awareness Level 1 course is designed to provide healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with the knowledge to be able to move and assist people in care safely and with dignity.
The course aims to help learners understand the importance of safe moving and handling techniques, including the use of equipment such as hoists and slings. It may cover topics such as the risks associated with moving and handling, the legal requirements for safe moving and handling, and the principles of good posture and ergonomics.
Successful completion of the course will result in the issuance of a certificate that is valid for three years. This certificate may be used to demonstrate that the learner has achieved a certain level of competence and knowledge in their role as a healthcare support worker or adult social care worker.
The course takes 1.5 hours to complete. This course costs £170 for up to 12 learners. Prices may vary based on your requirements.

Aim: To help healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with an awareness and understanding of key health and safety issues.
Food Safety, Nutrition and Hydration Awareness
Aim: To help healthcare support workers and adult social care workers to understand how to prepare and handle food safely and hygienically and understand the importance of good nutrition and hydration.
Medication and Healthcare Tasks Awareness
Aim: To help healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with basic knowledge of medications, their effects and safety issues and how to assist with healthcare tasks.
Handling and Recording Information
Aim: To help healthcare support workers and adult social care workers to explore and understand the principles of handling information and maintaining records.
Infection Control and Prevention Awareness
Aim: To introduce healthcare support workers and adult social care workers to the principles of infection control and prevention.
Effective Communication
Aim: To help healthcare support workers and adult social care workers to communicate effectively to improve outcomes for individuals they support.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Awareness
Aim: To help healthcare support workers and adult social care workers understand the principles of equality and diversity, how to promote inclusion and reduce discrimination.
First Aid Awareness
Aim: To help healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with an awareness and understanding of basic first aid principles and techniques.
Mental Health, Dementia and Learning Disability Awareness
Aim: To raise learners’ awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disabilities and how to promote positive wellbeing.
