This webinar aims to provide healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with the necessary information on health, safety, and fire safety to ensure their safety while delivering care. The course can be completed online and is delivered in a 3-hour session. Successful candidates will receive a certificate valid for 3 years upon completion of the course. This course costs £330. Mandatory Health and Social Care Courses
Lone Working Awareness
Aim: To introduce healthcare support workers and adult social care workers to the hazards and risks involved with working alone, and to identify methods of reducing and controlling those risks.
Moving, Assisting and Hoisting
Aim: To ensure healthcare support workers and adult social care workers recognise the principles of moving and assisting people safely, including the safe use of hoists, and the importance of risk assessment prior to any moving and assisting task.
People Hoisting
Aim: To recognise the principles of safe people hoisting and the importance of risk assessment prior to any hoisting task.
Safe Use of Wheelchairs
Aim: To ensure learners gain an awareness of the safe use of wheelchairs, including confidence to undertake a range of wheelchair assistance tasks and manoeuvres.
Managing and Supervising Safely
Aim: To provide managers and supervisors with an understanding of the importance of their responsibilities in relation to health and safety and what to do if things go wrong.
Risk Assessment in Care
Aim: To provide healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with an overview of why health and safety risk assessments are required and how they are applied within care settings.
Managing Risk Assessment in Care
Aim: To provide managers and supervisors in health and social care with the necessary knowledge and information to identify a range of hazards involved in the provision of care and assess and control the risks to service users and those providing their care.
Role of the Fire Marshal
Aim: To provide the knowledge and skills required to be a Fire Marshal.
First Aid Principles
