Medical Emergencies for Dental Practices Level 3
The Medical Emergencies for Dental Practices Level 3 course aims to equip learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate emergency first aid to patients and staff within dental practices. The course is designed to help learners understand how to respond to medical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, and seizures, as well as how to manage dental-specific emergencies such as choking and allergic reactions. The course takes 6 hours to complete and is taught in person by a trainer. Successful candidates will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years. The course costs £495 for up to 12 learners. Prices may vary according to your unique requirements.
Learning Objectives
- Describe your actions in an emergency
- Demonstrate adult resuscitation including the use of the AED and Oxygen Therapy
- Explain the management of adult choking
- Demonstrate the management of the unresponsive casualty
- Understand how to recognise and treat bleeding and shock
- Understand how to recognise and treat anaphylactic shock
- Explain the treatment of common medical emergencies, such as chest pain, airway and breathing problems, seizures, fainting and blood sugar emergencies

First Aid Awareness
Aim: To ensure that candidates are trained in adult emergency first aid techniques.
Basic Life Support
This training ensures candidates are trained in adult basic life support techniques before they receive their certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
Basic Life Support inc. Anaphylaxis
This course trains learners in basic life support techniques and provides information on anaphylaxis and the administration of the medication for its control.
First Aid at Work Refresher
Aim: To ensure delegates have the knowledge and expertise to re-qualify as a first aider in the work place.
First Aid at Work inc Alcohol Awareness
Aim: To provide learners with the knowledge and expertise to qualify as a first aider within the workplace, and know how to handle incidents where alcohol is involved.
Automated External Defibrillator
This course ensures all delegates are able to carry out CPR and understand how to operate an AED.
