This Tier 1 Oliver McGowan training course is designed for staff working across the healthcare partners of the North East London Integrated Care Board (including Trusts, Community, Primary Care, and the ICB).

The training provides basic awareness, fosters understanding, promotes inclusivity, and ensures appropriate support in everyday interactions with individuals who have learning disabilities and/or autism.

Eligibility Requirements:
Part 1 E-Learning must be completed prior to attending Part 2 webinar/face to face course. A certificate will be sent to your email within 48 hours of completion, and this will need to be shown to your trainer delivering the Tier 2 face to face course upon arrival.

Please note – We do not have access to update your Trust’s learning records, you will need to refer to your management/L&D team for this.

Tier 1 Staff Definition:
Tier 1 staff are those with limited or indirect contact with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism. Examples include administrative staff, catering staff and  laboratory staff

Please use the links below to book your training course. Spaces are limited and allocated based on the annual requirement to train one-third of the system's workforce. Additional spaces will be made available in summer 2025.

Important Note:
These Tier 1 courses are not intended for Tier 2 staff. Tier 2 staff are those who have direct and frequent interactions with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism as a core part of their role. Such staff require more in-depth training to support individuals effectively and should access the appropriate Tier 2 courses.
