How to Respond to an Emergency

Every year in the UK, more than 30,000 people experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Sadly, fewer than 1 in 10 will survive. Early CPR and early defibrillation are essential to significantly increase a person's chances of survival. With every minute that passes without these crucial first steps, the chances of survival can drop by 10%.

Initiatives such as Restart a Heart Day (16th October) aim to raise awareness of the importance of learning life-saving CPR skills and being defib-aware to enable more people to survive and improve equality in resuscitation across communities.

First Response Training (FRT) is a national training provider specialising in the delivery of first-class first aid training for individuals and all workplaces across the UK and industry sectors.
