First Response Training have secured grant funding to deliver Covid-19 Essential Training for adult social care providers on behalf of Skills for Care.
As a Skills for Care Endorsed learning provider, we are one of just 12 training providers approved to support you with this essential training during this challenging period. The grant funding covers three packages of essential training:
- Rapid Induction Programme - aimed at all new starters, people returning to care or those changing jobs within the sector, this covers the main knowledge elements from the Care Certificate and additional essential subjects.
- Refresher Training - aimed at staff who urgently need refresher training that has expired or will expire soon, in order for them to continue to work safely. It covers 8 topic areas, including Moving and Assisting, Basic Life Support, Safeguarding and Infection Prevention and Control.
- Volunteer Programme - aimed at volunteers in the care sector, this includes an introduction to adult social care and covers topics such as role and responsibilities, whistleblowing, equality, diversity and person centred values.
Due to the limited funding available initially, only the Rapid Induction Programme has been prioritised for delivery at this time. This is to ensure that all new employees can perform their duties safely. The Refresher Training and Volunteer's Programme learning packages will be available once further funds are confirmed.
