Level 2 Award in Personal Care
The Personal Care Level 2 course is designed to equip healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide personal care to service users in a dignified and empowering manner. The course aims to enhance understanding and promote best practices in personal care, ensuring the well-being and comfort of individuals receiving care.
The course has a duration of 3 hours, allowing participants to develop a solid foundation in personal care within a focused timeframe. The training is typically conducted in person, providing opportunities for interactive discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises to enhance understanding and skill development.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate that is valid for three years.
Learning Objectives
- Explain the role of the carer when toileting a service user

- Explain the need for the service user to carry out personal hygiene procedures

- Identify reversible causes of urinary incontinence including treatments and management of continence problems
