Level 2 Award in Safe Handling and Administration of Medication

The webinar on Handling and Administration of Medications Level 2 aims to equip healthcare support workers and adult social care workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure the safe handling and administration of medications. The primary objective of this webinar is to promote medication safety and minimize the risks associated with medication errors.

During the three-hour webinar, participants will be provided with essential information related to the handling and administration of medications. Upon successful completion of the webinar, participants will be issued a certificate that is valid for three years.

  • Identify the legislation that affects the administration of medicines
  • Explain the classifications, types of medicines, routes of administration, side effects and adverse reactions of medication
  • Explain the importance of following protocols and policies when receiving, storing, administering, recording and disposing of medicines
  • Identify the differences in protocols between Domiciliary care and Residential care
