Level 1 Award in Effective Communication

Effective Communication Level 1 is a course designed to help healthcare support workers and adult social care workers improve their communication skills to better support the individuals they work with. The course aims to provide learners with a basic understanding of effective communication techniques and strategies that can be used to improve outcomes for individuals receiving care and support.

The course covers topics such as active listening, verbal and nonverbal communication, communication barriers and overcoming them, and effective communication in difficult situations. Learners are introduced to the importance of confidentiality, privacy, and dignity when communicating with individuals receiving care and support.

Successful completion of the course will result in the issuance of a certificate that is valid for three years. This certificate may be used to demonstrate that the learner has achieved a certain level of competence and knowledge in their role as a healthcare support worker or adult social care worker.
