Teaching Boundaries and Good Practice...

The effectiveness and success of any organisation within the health and social care sector is heavily reliant on the professional conduct of its front line workers. It is therefore extremely important that employers take time to instil good practice in their care and support workers.

Proper instruction in the concepts of professional boundaries and good practice provides the underlying knowledge required by the Common Induction Standards and underpins all work in the social care sector.

Recognising this, First Response Training are introducing their brand new Boundaries and Good Practice training course this month. The course, which is 6 hours in duration, outlines professional expectations of behaviour and sets out the legislative guidelines and key principles involved.

The comprehensive new course teaches delegates about such interrelated topics as person-centred approaches to care, mental capacity and safeguarding vulnerable adults while also discussing privacy, dignity and independence.

Other content covered during the course includes:
*Definition of Boundaries and Good Practice
*Legislation
*Service User Rights
*Communication
*Information
*Protection
*Risk Assessing
*Personal Disclosure
*Consequences of Crossing Boundaries
*Responsibility and Accountability

Boundaries and Good Practice is the latest edition to First Response’s ever-growing portfolio of health and social care training courses and has been designed specifically to meet customer demands.

Managing Director Darren Eden said: “We have been made aware that there is a significant demand for a course of this nature and we believe that the content and duration is ideally suited to those working within the care sector.

"Good practice and the formation of professional and personal boundaries are paramount to the success of any organisation, but are especially important for front line carers and support workers. We would encourage people to take on this important and useful training programme."
