New Person-Centred Care training cour...
First Response Training are introducing their new 1-day Person Centred Care training course, specifically for the care sector.
Recent policy developments in the health and social care sector stress the importance of a more “person-centred” approach within care services. The principle is that person-centred care is focused on the service user and that it promotes independence and empowers users by involving them in decisions relating to their care. Care services need to be flexible and tailored to the individual, taking into account their personal characteristics, views and unique requirements.
First Response’s newly-developed course has been designed to meet Skills for Care Common Induction Standards and aims to provide delegates with essential information in relation to the principles of person-centred care.
The new course, which is 6 hours in duration, includes information about the benefits of person-centred care, both for the carer and the service user, explains the Transforming Social Care Agenda, introduces the legislation and standards applicable to person-centred care, and looks at partnership working and equality and diversity principles.
Darren Eden, Managing Director of First Response Training, said: “This innovative course is an exciting addition to our range of services. We have been made aware that there is a significant demand for a course of this nature and we believe that this format and delivery will encourage people working in the care sector to gain a comprehensive understanding of person-centred care.”
He added: “Person-centred care is a complex subject and is directly related to the quality of the care provision. We believe that it will be a valuable course for candidates to attend.”
First Response now offers over 50 different course types to an average of 1000 students per week. They provide training for care, paediatric and all industry sectors, with a course portfolio that includes aspects of first aid, health and safety, food hygiene and fire training. They continue to add to their range and review their services regularly to ensure that they are offering the most relevant and valuable courses to their client-base.
