An informative course designed to raise awareness of the causes and effects of dementia. It will help carers identify and understand key elements of dementia care so that a better quality of care can be offered to the service user. Dementia is a broad term for a range of conditions that involve loss of mental ability and is most common in the elderly; around 5% of people over 65 are affected to some extent.
This course meets Skills for Care Common Induction Standards and has links to NVQ level 2.
