Paediatric First Aid Level 3

This course is designed for childcarers who already have a good understanding of basic paediatric first aid and are looking to enhance their knowledge and skills in managing more complex and serious medical emergencies involving infants and young children.

Aim: To introduce first aid to learners who have children and babies in their care and to enable them to recognise and respond to a paediatric emergency.

Certification: Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate valid for 3 years.

Duration: 2 days

  • Explain the treatment for various types of shock
  • Demonstrate the treatment of serious bleeding

Early Years Courses

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the definition of Angelman Syndrome, its history and etymology
  • Identify symptoms and characteristics of Angelman Syndrome and the similarities to other rare conditions
  • Understanding support for an individual with Angelman Syndrome
  • Consider appropriate communication with an individual with Angelman Syndrome
  • Explain the diagnosis of an individual with Angelman syndrome
  • Understand the causal factors around Angelman Syndrome
