Manual Handling for Child Carers Level 2
As a child carer, your role involves lifting and carrying children, which can lead to injury if not done correctly. Manual handling injuries are among the most common injuries in the workplace, and it is important to understand how to handle children safely to prevent accidents.
This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to carry out safe manual handling techniques when caring for children. The course will cover the legal requirements of manual handling, the risks associated with incorrect handling, and the principles of safe lifting and carrying.
You will learn how to assess the risks associated with manual handling and identify appropriate control measures to reduce the risk of injury. You will also learn how to use lifting techniques, bending techniques, and lifting positions to ensure that you can lift and carry children safely and with confidence.
Aim: To recognise the principles of safe manual handling of children and the importance of risk assessment before any manual handling task.
Certification: Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate valid for 3 years.
Duration: 3 hours
