Introduction to training for the general workplace…

We provide general health and safety training suitable for a range of workplaces across all industry sectors.

At First Response Training, we provide general health and safety training suitable for a range of workplaces across all industry sectors, and throughout the UK. We deliver over 100 different course types in the fields of first aid, health and safety, fire safety, food hygiene, specialist safety and professional development.

From training individuals on our public first aid and health and safety courses at our open venues across the UK, to providing bespoke, in-house training for major international companies, we can provide a full spectrum of training solutions for businesses.

We are an accredited centre for professional health and safety bodies such as IOSH and HABC and have been providing first aid training in line with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines for over 17 years. Using our dedicated in-house Curriculum Team, all of our training is mapped to national occupational standards, legislative requirements and official guidelines.

First Aid

All employers must assess the first aid needs of their workplace, taking into account their business size, number of employees and the nature of their work activity. As an absolute minimum, a low-risk workplace such as a small office should have a first aid box and a person appointed to manage first aid arrangements. For workplaces with more significant health and safety risks, or as a sensible precaution for all workplaces, a fully trained first aider is required.

Testimonials

The level of teaching was outstanding and this really showed in the exam marks. The trainer’s enthusiasm for First Aid really shone through and this in turn motivated the group to learn, practise and ask as many questions as possible. […]. The instructor passed on expertise in such a way that did not alienate anyone even though it was a diverse group of people from all parts of the business. The examiners were wonderful, giving us extra tips and advice once we had passed; this gave everyone confidence in their new skills and will allow us as individuals to handle a first aid situation.
