First
Response Training & Consultancy
Services Ltd are now able to complement
our existing training services
by offering value for money first
aid supplies.
Once
an assessment of first aid needs
has been carried out by an organisation,
the findings can be used to decide
what first aid equipment should
be provided in the workplace.
The minimum level of first aid
equipment is a suitably stocked
first aid box. The assessment
may indicate that additional materials
and equipment are required such
as scissors, adhesive tape, disposable
aprons and individually wrapped
moist wipes. They may be put in
the first aid container if there
is room or stored separately.
The HSE recommendations state
that first aid kits in the workplace
should be checked regularly by
the company appointed person and
it is important to ensure that
the contents are kept up to date
and items replaced if past their
use by date.
First Aid kits should be accessible
and clearly identified by a white
cross on a green background. The
container should protect the contents
from dust and damp. Larger worksites
may need more than one first aid
kit.
Detailed
below is an example of the contents
that should be present in a workplace
first aid kit for 10 employees,
larger workplaces require more
stock:
