To help healthcare support workers and adult social care workers to understand the techniques that will enable them to recognise and diffuse challenging behaviour, thus avoiding situations of potential violence.
- Define challenging behaviour, its causes and forms
- Discuss and practice the communication skills required to diffuse challenging behaviour
- Recognise when we might be at risk if situations escalate
- Describe how to avoid danger and recognise your limits of practice
Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate valid for 3 years.
