Care Induction Programme
Meeting the Needs of Care Workers
First Response Training (FRT) is delighted to introduce our new programme for care workers – the FRT Common Induction Programme. Our programme meets the revised outcomes of the Common Induction Standards issued by Skills for Care in June 2010.

Meeting the Challenge of the New Common Induction Standards (CIS)
Every individual new to the care industry as well as those changing jobs within it, is required to undertake an induction programme that meets the revised standards and allows them to provide evidence of completed objectives.
The revised Common Induction Standards focus on 8 key areas, these are:
- Role of the health and social care worker
- Personal development
- Communicate effectively
- Equality and inclusion
- Principles for implementing duty of care
- Principles of safeguarding in health and social care
- Person-centred support
- Health and safety in an adult social care setting
As previously, it is a requirement that the standards are completed within 12 weeks. The FRT Common Induction Programme will help managers to ensure this happens in a planned format that can easily be built into any work setting.
Our programme offers an added assurance that all relevant staff will be lead through the revised standards using a positive and constructive system without the need for extensive planning.
FRT offers three different solutions to help you tackle the new standards:
- A complete distance learning manual which the manager or senior can give to their new worker, allowing them to train independently
- A blended learning approach in which a trainer will conduct three half-day support sessions with the manager and staff in addition to providing the FRT manuals
- A blended approach with a greater emphasis on practical training as the trainer will conduct three full-day support sessions to include aspects of first aid, moving and handling and fire training, in addition to the provision of FRT manuals
This allows managers the flexibility to select the solution that best meets the needs of their staff and setting.
This product is available to all care organisations regardless of size and ensures that your staff will be provided with the relevant tools required to become effective, confident and productive employees from the beginning of their new job.
