This course is a basic requirement for the lawful sale of alcohol within a retail environment. It ensures that all those selling and serving alcohol can operate legally and maintain a safe environment for customers, employees and colleagues.

  • Identify the relevant licensing authorities
  • Understand personal and premises licences
  • Implement operating schedules
  • Understand meaning of permitted temporary activities
  • Identify unauthorised licensable activities
  • Explain police powers and rights of entry
  • Understand the legal and social responsibilities of the personal licence holder
  • Explain considerations around illegal drugs, the effects of alcohol and disorderly conduct
